SAPS: Research Internships 2018 in Pretoria

The South African Police Service hereby invites unemployed youth who conform to the requirements for a twelve-month internship programme at Division: Research: Management Intervention. The internship programme is part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.

Requirements:

  • Must be between ages 18 – 35
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Must be in possession of:
    • National Diploma: Information Technology, OR
    • BSc Degree: Computer Science, OR
    • BSc Degree: Informatics
  • Must have no criminal record(s)
  • Applicants must be unemployed and never participated in an internship programme previously
  • The intern must understand and be able to use both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in research project
  • Understand how to conduct a literature review and analyse literature review
  • Have good communication skills

Duties:

  • Provide administrative functions in the office of Research Governance and Coordination
  • Manage documentation in the office of Research Governance and Coordination
  • Monitor the execution of the SAPS Rsearch Agenda and rsearch proposals from internally and externally
  • Monitor the implementation of the rsearch project intents
  • Update the database of the research conducted by, for and about the SAPS
  • Capture and update the database on the explicit policing knowledge assets
  • Capture and update the database on the tacit policing knowledge assets
  • Manage and control the rsearch knowledge repository

A Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form.

Certified copies of an applicant’s ID document, Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and all post school educational qualifications obtained, must also be submitted and attached to every application. Certified copies should not be older than 3 months.
